Recharge your batteries

It is really important to set a side time to relax for your health and wellbeing. Our day to day lives are hectic and stressful and it’s easy to forget that we need make time to chill out and enjoy ourselves. When you feel your best, you’ll do your best.  Start making time to recharge and you’ll be happier and healthier.

There are a lot of different things you can do to recharge. You will find some strategies for relaxation work better than others. Try out some of the suggestions below over the long weekend, once you know which form of relaxing works for you try and make it a regular habit.

8 simple recharging strategies:

1. Unplug from technology

Take a break from your smart phone and laptop, take some time to really focus on your surroundings.

2. Get out in nature

There is nothing is more refreshing than spending some quality time outdoors. Go for a walk, run, cycle or spend the day at the beach.

3. Take a bath

Take a bath with essential oils and Epsom salts. This will relax your muscles, body and mind. Try and stay in the tub for a least 15-20 minutes.

4. Read a book or watch a movie

Remove any distractions and just sit still and chill.

5. Remove clutter from your life

This may not sound relaxing but your energy feeds off your environment, so tidy up!

6. Listen to music

Listening to quiet, relaxing music, can elevate your mind and body can significantly reduce how much stress you feel.

7. Exercise

Adding 30mins of exercise to your daily life will increase circulation and help you clear your mind and reduce stress. Yoga can be particularly beneficial for relaxing your mind and body… If you haven’t tried it before, now’s the perfect time to learn.

8. Plan your next holiday

Plan a trip to somewhere new and exotic. Having something exciting to look forward to will help reduce stress.
